We're always being told to get more antioxidants into our diet. But what exactly are they, and why are they so important in the pursuit of health? WHAT THEY ARE Essentially, antioxidants are molecules that help protect our bodies against free radicals. Free radicals are released when oxidization occurs within the body, and they can cause damage to the structure of cells.
