As a homeschooling mom to my four precious children, I certainly was not looking for something to fill my “free time.” I was very content being a stay-at-home mom and wife. I definitely was not looking for Arbonne, but am thankful that I was introduced to this life-changing opportunity!
My dear friend from church, ERVP Angela Flint, had me try the NutriMinC® RE9 products at a women’s retreat this past spring. I loved the product immediately and was thrilled to help her get started with the new business, but I certainly was not thinking I would be working this business with her. I was unable to attend any of her Presentations, so one evening, ENVP Kether Wilson, and Michelle and ENVP Rick Teague came to my house to discuss the benefits of the Arbonne opportunity. My husband and I had negative opinions of network marketing. In fact, my husband was so skeptical that after several hours he actually called from his cell phone in our bedroom to ask when these people were going to leave! Even with his skepticism and my lack of education, I could not sleep that night.
My husband has a large orthodontic practice, we are very busy with our kid’s activities and church, but we desired to be a part of our friend’s success in this business. So with no previous experience in anything like this, we began our adventure with Arbonne in June of 2005. It quickly took on a life of its own!
My sister came in town shortly after I began and I told her every single detail I knew about the pure, safe, beneficial Arbonne products over lunch. She laughed outloud as her little sister said words like nanosphere and molecule. I could not believe it when she told me she wanted to join me in this business. I felt so unbelievably blessed to have my sister as a partner in this great company. The next week, my sister-in-law also saw the wonderful opportunity and joined my team. They both hit the ground running. Soon, my mother, another sister-in-law and my mother-in-law all began working on our team. In three months I had promoted to RVP.
I could not believe that after “putting on my blinders for 90 days” as EAM Michelle Teague had told me to do, would translate into eventually driving a brand-new white Mercedes-Benz. The next month, my sister, ERVP Kelley Feste and sister-in-law, ERVP Shanna Argote, both promoted to RVP as well. I could not be more proud of them. They are both tremendous leaders and inspire me in my faith and business daily.
The more I witnessed the lives of many being changed by this incredible company, the stronger my personal belief system grew. It is not by my own efforts, but by those of my amazing downline that a few short months later, I promoted to NVP. Never in my wildest dreams did I think that we would build a Nation in a few months after starting this business. That is proof positive that sticking to our proven system, leading with the opportunity, attaching yourself to activity, sharing the incredible pure, safe, beneficial products with everyone, and having a will-not-quit attitude works!
I think, at first, many people wondered why we were getting involved in a network marketing company. We already had a successful business that provided well for our family. How thankful I am that Angela did not assume that. I encourage my team to never pre-judge or assume who will or will not be interested in the business. You never know! My husband soon realized the benefits of the potential to earn passive residual income. Though he gets paid well for what he does, he only gets paid when he is at his office seeing patients. He loves what he does for a living, yet Arbonne has freed him up to work less and spend more time with his family.
One of the primary things that impresses me with Arbonne is the team atmosphere. You really are only successful by helping others become successful. I am thankful that everyone is encouraged and willing to help one another meet their goals and grow personally. I have grown so much through this business and have had the joy of watching other lives change as well. I have also been stretched and seen God work on various areas of weaknesses in my life and sharpen those for good. A light bulb moment for me was when I realized this was so much bigger than me, that I was not asking others to invest in my business, but I was offering them a life-changing opportunity. This business is truly about helping others and I love that.
