I grew up in a household where network marketing was distrusted. So when Ashley Carpenter approached me about starting my own Arbonne business in October 2004, I was skeptical. In fact, I thought Ashley had made what I considered a very unwise decision. As she spoke to me about the opportunity, I remember smiling and nodding. But had I been a cartoon character, I would have had a big bubble above my head that read, “Absolutely not! Never!” Of course, I did not say that to Ashley. Instead, I politely found a way to tell her, “Do not call me, I will call you.” Then, I threw away the samples and Product Catalogue she gave me. Plus, at the time, I was a full-time seminary student working on a part-time internship and already had a part-time job. My plate was full and I did not have room for anything else.
In the spring of 2005, I approached my husband and asked him for money to buy makeup that would cover up my very dry skin. He suggested that if I was going to buy “face stuff” from anyone it should be from Ashley. So, I humbly called Ashley to tell her I had thrown away everything she had so graciously given me months ago and was now ready to give them a try. I prepped her for the fact that I would never use anything that required more than one step or anything that cost more than a couple of bucks.
Literally, 24 hours after using my NutriMinC® RE9 skin care samples, I was hooked. I had to have the product. So, Ashley signed me up as a Consultant in order for me to purchase product at a discount. I casually asked Ashley how her “business” was going, and her answer shocked me. I stood frozen as she relayed her incredible success story. She said her Arbonne business was going to potentially allow her to quit her 40-hour-a-week job, participate in the Mercedes-Benz Cash Bonus Program to get a new, white Mercedes-Benz, and fulfill all her dreams. I was speechless … and skeptical.
After three weeks of researching Arbonne’s finances, corporate executives, products and compensation plan, I ended my search in frustration — Ashley was right. In essence, there was incredible probability for success at a very low risk.
Arbonne is a blessing in our lives. I had three major prayer requests. First, we needed a second car. Secondly, I needed a potentially great income to put my husband through seminary. And lastly, I wanted to serve Aaron and help him through seminary while also continuing my own seminary education. I wondered how I would do it all.
I now own my own business, work from home, set my own part-time hours and earn a potentially generous income. Now, I can say “yes” to ministry and fulfill the dreams of our lives. If you are reading my Eye on Arbonne story and are as skeptical as I once was, please heed the wise words of my husband: “It can work for you, too!” Do not miss out on this potentially life-changing blessing because of skepticism, fear, insecurity, lack of time, or any other excuse.
My Arbonne business has been like other Arbonne experiences — filled with joy and hardship. It is hard work and takes my utmost commitment. Yet the reward is so very great. I work with some of my favorite people in the whole world, who I minister to and help.
To my sponsor, NVP Ashley Carpenter: Thank you for sharing the gift of Arbonne with Aaron and me. I am indebted to you because you would not let anyone be your dreamstealer, not even me.
To my best friend, RVP Lori: Life is so sweet with you in it! Your friendship is an anchor in my life. We share so many sweet memories, but those with the most impact are when you have encouraged me to let go and let God. Thank you for your loyal friendship and gentle wisdom. You make me better in every way. This accomplishment is sweet because you are standing beside me. You were my dream team all-star from day one!
To my mom, RVP Noemi Obenhaus: Tears stream down my face as I write my Eye on Arbonne success story. I want to be just like you when I grow up. You are the hardest working, most determined and encouraging leader I know. Working with you is a dream come true. I sponsored way up with you! Press on toward the goal. I love you deeply.
To my dad, Ron: You are my superman. Your integrity and expertise in sales, business and entrepreneurial ventures leaves a legacy of accomplishment that I have gleaned from. Thank you, dad, I love you so much!

To DMs, Tina and Charis: I love working with you and cannot wait to see what gets accomplished through the both of you. I was where you are just a few short months ago; dream big. You are the bedrock on our team. Thank you for your hard work and leadership. I am so blessed to know you and overjoyed to work with you.
To our Region: I can see ENVP stamped on each of your foreheads, go run and check the mirror.
To my husband, Aaron: Your love for God ignites my passion to serve Him for His Glory. Without you, none of this would have happened. You told me to go for it and you were right. Thank you, just does not cut it. The deep sense of joyful gratitude could only be expressed with a thousand “thank yous.” Aaron, you are the love of my life, my best friend, the man of my dreams and my hero.
I thought Arbonne would be a potential means to my dreams, and it is. Yet, I have realized it was not only the means to fulfilling dreams; it is the dream I had put on the shelf. I want to live an extraordinary life worthy of the calling I have received. I want to accomplish extraordinary things. An Arbonne business is my vehicle to do exactly that! It can potentially be yours, too.
