“Do the right thing at the right time for the right reason, and you will be rewarded.”
I was raised on a cattle ranch outside of Globe, Arizona. My parents, James and Minnie Griffin, instilled strong morals, work ethics and faith in God in me. I dearly appreciate that now more than ever. Growing up, I watched my dad pray for rain that was necessary for our land and cattle in the arid desert, and I saw his prayers answered. Faith is indeed a precious gift, but when belief accompanies that faith, amazing things happen. My father, with faith and belief, would pray for rain, and it would often pour rain exactly when he needed it the most!
With Arbonne, there will be “dry” times: Cancelled Presentations, dreamstealers and even people who say, “no.” This is the time when you should pray for rain, or guidance, and with faith, belief and hard work, watch as leaders develop, teams grow and goals are set and met.
Sometimes we do not get things when we want them, but success happens when the time is right. Do not quit! My mother said to talk to one hundred people and I might find one, or two key people to help build a team with. Hundreds of people working with you is better than doing it all by yourself, she added. We all know this, but I did not do this in the beginning. I am a Chiropractor and an Acupuncturist; I wanted to just empower women about nutrition and introduce them to PhytoProlief Natural Balancing Cream. I had no intention of doing this as a business. I found out about Arbonne when I was given a PhytoProlief Natural Balancing Cream for my own needs. Now, I am glad I started using it! I found myself passionate about women’s natural balance and would talk to anyone who would listen, and even some who did not want to listen (on planes, in stores and in public bathrooms)! After a couple of months, I was informed that I was a District Manager and I did not even know what that was.
Andrea Rennon, my first Consultant, wanted a skin care Presentation. I was not even using skin care products at that time, and had no idea how to conduct a Presentation. I called Cirina Culberson, my Area Manager at that time, who let me try her products and did that first Presentation for me. That Presentation allowed me to see the bigger picture. Being healthy on the outside, as well as on the inside is important for good skin. Thank you, Andrea.
Once I became a DM, I received a call from ENVP Neta Irwin, who asked if I wanted to become an Area Manager. With her coaching and doing everything she told me, I became an AM in the next three months. I stayed there for the next nine months because I was afraid to share the business side of Arbonne with people.
One year after joining Arbonne in December of 2003, I quit the Chiropractic practice due to a previous back injury and began Arbonne full time. I quickly came to appreciate the importance of financial health. I shared the Arbonne products and opportunity with people, and helped them share with others, and I began to reach hundreds of people with the help of my team. My mother’s brilliant advice from the very beginning was bearing fruit. I found business builders among those hundreds, and those business builders found more, and as I “prayed for rain,” my drought was over. I realized the rest of the story and now everyone hears it all. Health is on the inside and outside, and financial health is important as well.
To my husband, Brent: I love you dearly, and thank you for being a fantastic father and role model to our three sons. Without your support and tremendous love, I would not be this successful!
