It was just another day in between classes at the elementary school where I taught when NVP Tammy Obar stopped by my classroom and told me about a new business she had just started. I knew she was serious because I had never seen Tammy so excited and nervous at the same time! Being an art teacher, I only had a couple of minutes between classes, so she quickly summarized the news of her sister’s amazing success with Arbonne. However, before she could answer my questions, a stream of first graders came pouring into my classroom. She told me she would grab a skin care sample pack for me to try, and then meet with me that weekend if I wanted to learn more. When she returned, I had already begun my lesson, but noticed a skin care sample pack on my desk; the same thing my mother carried when she came to visit from Oklahoma.
Tammy knew my husband and I were no strangers to finding other ways of bringing in extra income. About four years earlier, we started dabbling in online auctions just on a whim, but found it to be a business that could bring in extra money. We became comfortable with fact that we could earn that extra spending money simply by putting in a little extra work in our spare time. The only problem with that was if we stopped, the money stopped.
The weekend following Tammy’s visit to my classroom, I researched Arbonne as much as I could. I was amazed to discover that out of all the information I collected, none of it was negative, only glowingly positive. I was more intrigued than ever. So, I called my mother and asked her if she was still using that “Arbonne stuff.” She replied, “Yes! I love it! Why? Are you thinking about using it?” I told her I might be and left it at that. I really did not want anyone to influence my decision on starting this business, I just wanted the facts.
Later that weekend, ENVP Tiffany Obar and Tammy came over to tell me more. I could not believe this business could really be true. I wanted to believe it, but I am a realist at heart. I had come to believe that only a few lucky people in the world were privileged enough to possess the financial freedom that everyone only dreams of. Although my husband, David, and I had found a way to give our girls the “extras” in life, we worked very hard to make that happen. We realized that we were never going to have financial and time freedom at the same time. After Tammy and Tiffany left, David, who had been listening to parts of the conversation, asked me excitably, “Are you going to do it?” I could tell by his face that he was all for it! But I was still unsure. I felt like it would fall on my shoulders and I was not sure if I could do it on my own. Looking back, I understand why I felt that way. If I had known then what I know now, there would not have been an ounce of hesitation. My husband and I are as much a team in this venture as we have ever been, and have truly built this Arbonne business together.
After a couple of days of really thinking it through, and coming to believe in the system and the products wholeheartedly, I jumped on board with Tammy, and it has been a whirlwind journey ever since! The first people I wanted to share this with were my mom, AM Delores Marshall, and my sister, RVP Kelli Bleemel. They signed on without really knowing what they were getting into, but saw my excitement and passion, and simply trusted me. Exactly 90 days from the time I signed up, I became an RVP and got my white Mercedes-Benz after participating in the Mercedes-Benz Cash Bonus Program!
The beauty of this business is that it is available to anyone. You just have to believe! I am passionate about Arbonne. I think what I love the most is that in the midst of helping others find their success, you find yours. Arbonne has changed our lives; we now have time to enjoy our newfound potential for financial freedom. And, somewhere along the way, the dreams we thought were beyond our reach, became ours again. We now have endless possibilities, and I am so excited to see what the future holds for our family!
