“Make the decision to go for what you want, and don’t worry about how you’ll do it.”
I was not looking for Arbonne when it found me, and if you are like me, you may not even know you need it. If someone had told me a year ago that I would be where I am today, I would have laughed and said they were crazy. I was reluctant to even attend a Presentation, but my good friend, Teresa Gailor asked me to go to one her sister from Pennsylvania was coming to do. She also gave me a skin care sample pack. I had been looking for something new to help my skin, which had begun to look dull and dry, so I was quite excited to try it. Well, as anyone who has used Arbonne can imagine, I was immediately sold, and I decided to go to the Presentation, buy some products and support her sister. Little did I know, Teresa’s sister had a gift, much greater than skin care, to offer me.
Her Presentation intrigued me on many levels. I knew the products were great, but it was the philosophy behind them that led me to educate myself on the products I was using. She also asked some great questions, such as: What would my life look like in five years, and did I have a plan B? These really hit home because although I had always thought my life was well planned out, 2004 had thrown me some curve balls.
I had a very comfortable life, having cut back my hours as a veterinarian to work just one day a week so I could be at home with my children. However, in February my youngest son became seriously ill and this took my family on an emotional roller coaster that left us with some financial and scheduling stresses. I had also begun to experience some health concerns, and in the summer I learned that my sister and her family were looking to move out of state for a job.
When I heard that Arbonne could be a great opportunity, I thought of my sister as well. I knew she would rather stay in the state, and at home, with her children.
I jumped in with both feet and brought my sister with me. It was one of the best decisions I ever made. It has become a passion of mine to educate men and women, and it is so rewarding to see what a difference the products have made for so many people. I am most excited about what the business is doing for my team and me. I cannot wait to be the one to hand out the keys to the Mercedes-Benz! Kim and Blakey — you’re next!
If I had to think of one thing that kept me working hard, it was hearing everyone say that the only people who do not succeed are the ones who quit — it will work if you do. Just look at my awesome upline and you will find that to be true: ERVP Felicia Wootsick, NVP Tiffany Bufton, ENVP Tracey Gatchel, ERVP Elizabeth Sanchez, ENVP Linda Parker, ENVP Cecilia Stoll, and the list just continues.
This business is a decision. If you think you can do it, you are right, and if you think you cannot, you are right, too. In my qualification for AM, someone looking at my numbers might not have thought I was ready to do it, but NVP Tiffany Bufton painted a picture for me and I saw the only thing stopping me, was me. Then, as I approached RVP, it was a similar suggestion from NVP Tracey Gatchel that got me thinking. My goal had been to go into qualification for RVP in May of this year, but because of the seed she planted, and the support of my great team, I have finished one month before I even planned to start! The famous quote is true — once you commit to something, the universe does conspire to assist you.
To my wonderful upline, and all of the Arbonne leaders: Thank you for setting such a great example. To President Rita Davenport, Chairman & CEO Robert M. Henry and everyone at the Home Office: Thank you for your hard work, and love for the company and all of us.
To my biggest Why, my husband, Brian and sons, Benjamin and Matthew: I would go to the ends of the earth for you. It has not been an easy road, but I am so lucky to have a fulfilling career, the potential to earn a great income, new Mercedes-Benz and still be a stay at home mom.
To my wonderful sister, EAM Kim Case: You were the first person to see what I did, and your unwavering support and love are a big reason I am writing this today. To my other awesome AM, Blakey Bohler: This has been a wonderful journey for all of us, and I am so happy to call you my friend — you are an Ace!
To my AM-in-qualification, Tricia Confoy and my DMs, G Aubrey, Wendy Geer, and Whisper and Christian Stoddard: I know you see the big picture and I am so proud of all of you for your accomplishments. Onward and up!
To my DMs-in-qualification, Brooke Dailey, Susan Downing, Kelly Guest, Diana Horsley, Alicia Jackson, Angie Maloney, Marya Randolph, Stephanie Waltbillig and Megan Ward: I am so proud of your commitment. You have just begun the greatest journey of your life.
I send a special thank you to all my Consultants, Clients and friends for their support and love of the products.
Boa Vista reflects my Portuguese heritage. It means “beautiful view,” and it brings to mind the same peaceful and awestruck feeling I get while looking out over the hills of northern Portugal from my aunt’s balcony. I believe it also is symbolic of all that Arbonne has to offer each one of us. If you could see what I see, nothing would stop you from reaching for your dreams.
