SUCCESS STRATEGY:

“Focus on the quantity and quality of activity rather than the outcome.”

My joy and passion in life has always been to help other people to personally and spiritually grow. For the past 13 years, I have been privileged to stay at home and raise my two children. Also, I have been able to volunteer my time as a bible-study leader and spiritual mentor — influencing the lives of others while experiencing personal growth.

As much as I loved being home full-time, I needed to contribute to our family’s income because our oldest daughter, Rachel, had planned to go to college in less than two years. However, I did not want to return to a situation where I had limited vacation time and a schedule that was not under my control. So, I decided to employ my organizational skills by starting my own residential-organization business. I loved being my own boss, meeting new people and helping them lead more effective and productive lives.

Three months into my new business, we took our daughter on a college-visiting trip. It was exciting, yet the financial realities were sobering! I was concerned that my new business would not provide enough income by the time she started college.

Shortly after our return home, a friend told me about the wonderful anti-aging skin care system that she was using. After trying her NutriMinC® RE9 products and liking them, I was curious to learn more about the product line, so I finally attended a Presentation the following week (after failing to attend two prior Presentations). What happened at that Presentation still surprises me. Not only was the product information compelling, the opportunity was even more compelling! Although I have never been interested in direct sales or the network marketing industry’s current market trends, the company’s growth and the potential for success intrigued me. The concept of leveraging my time made sense. Even though I enjoyed being my own boss, I was still trading my time for money. After thinking about it, praying about it and discussing it with my husband, I became so excited that I could not sleep!

Two weeks later, I launched my Arbonne business. I pushed past my fears and decided that if I were to do this, I would give it my all. I was determined to stick with it until I reached ENVP. I never allowed the word “quit” to enter my vocabulary. I spent my first few months doing many Presentations and learning about network marketing, as an industry, and Arbonne, as a company. My belief quickly grew in the products, company and industry. I listened to the Arbonne Learn & Burn™ CDs, until they became a part of me, my thinking and my communication skills. I truly believe that this business is an incredible gift and offers ordinary people the opportunity to potentially build extraordinary lives and incomes.

Through Arbonne, I have the opportunity to pursue my passion of guiding and encouraging others toward their personal growth, while also experiencing personally growth, myself. I am learning to discipline my self-talk and attitude. As a result, I am becoming a more positive person, and also, the person I have always wanted to be!

First, I want to thank God for creating me and equipping me to fulfill His purpose for my life.

Secondly, to my dear husband, Bob: Thank you for the many meals, dishwashing and homework help you have provided. You never complained and always believed in me. You are a blessing. To my daughter, Rachel: Your looming, college career provided the motivation for my success. You have done a wonderful job of sharing Arbonne with your friends. I appreciate all of the interest and support you have shown in my business. To my son, Peter: You tirelessly labeled products and assembled hostess and sponsor packets. No one could ask for a better assistant.

To my parents: You always told me that I could accomplish anything I set my mind to and encouraged me to invest myself in the lives of others, in order to have an eternal impact. Thank you.

To my friend, Deb Deanovic: Thank you for introducing me to the products. To my sponsor, RVP-in-qualification Wendy Greiling: You are a tremendous example of generosity and grace to me.

To my upline, ERVP Colleen Krebs: Thank you for providing me with so much wisdom and insight. To ENVP Janet Elliott: Thank you for faithfully coaching and encouraging me, and for helping my team to grow.

To my first business builder and Ace, EAM Susan Young: I have learned so much from you. You exemplify a no-matter-what and never-quit attitude. You will be driving your Mercedes-Benz very soon.

To my dear sister, AM Brenda Boelens: You inspire me! You never give up, and you accept the joys and sorrows of life with incredible strength and grace. To AMs Jane Thames and Maribeth Osell: You both are building incredible teams and growing into strong leaders. RVP is right around the corner for both of you. To AMs-in-qualification Pam Johnson and Stephanie Nordstrom: You are almost there.

To DMs, Fonda Broekhuis, Mellisa Reinhart, Patty Bergey, Pam Johnson, Laurie Donohue, Rosemary Leone, Stephanie Nordstrom, Darlene Addison and Monica Lemcke: Your consistent activity will pay off. To DMs-in-qualification, Catherine Thexton, Maresa Murray, Kathy Bruen and Kari Williams: I am so excited to watch you grow your businesses. You are in for an amazing journey.

To the rest of my team who are beginning their journey, including, Donna Langone, Wendy Erickson, Colt Thompson, Patty Kleinschmidt, Deanna Powers and Eileen McCarthy Harness: I am thankful for each of you and look forward to helping you all grow successful businesses.
