SUCCESS STRATEGY:

“Believe in yourself and your team, and pursue your business with enthusiasm and activity.”

I have to pinch myself to make sure this life I have had for the past 12 months is not a dream. Just 11 months after being introduced to Arbonne, I have promoted to NVP and am driving a white Mercedes-Benz. Little did I know —when I signed up for holiday bazaar in St. Petersburg, Florida, to sell jewelry — my life would change three months later.

I was retired at the time. I sold a computer business several years ago, and realized after six months of retirement that it was not that much fun. So, I started a jewelry business. I did fundraisers for hospitals and worked with many charitable organizations. Since I am not one to slow down, I turned a part-time job into a full-time business, which was typical of me. With me, it is all or nothing. My husband fussed that I worked too much and should enjoy myself, which I thought I was doing.

The day I met ENVP Sibley Gammon and ENVP Robyn Lyle, I was intrigued with the Arbonne story, but I knew I could not take on another job. I thanked them for the product sample and conversation, which I enjoyed, and filed Robyn’s card away. Luckily for me, Robyn did not file my card away. She saved my e-mail address and faithfully kept in touch with me. I found the articles and Eye on Arbonne success stories I received enlightening and was amazed by the growth of the company and the thought of potential residual income. The concept of residual income was of great interest to me, and if other professional men and women were involved, maybe it actually worked.

So, in the beginning of March, I called Robyn. I asked her to sign me up as a Consultant. I really do not know why, because I had not researched the power of network marketing and did not know much about skin care. I only knew I enjoyed the information Robyn shared with me and the product samples she shared gave me results.

Once I received my first Arbonne shipment, it hit me: What was I supposed to do now? What was I thinking when I agreed to do this? I was certain I did not know four people who could possibly want to participate in this type of business with me. It took a little time to put a plan in place, plan my activity, set goals and write them down. I have always enjoyed start up businesses. I love the challenge, especially if I believe in the product. This time, it was my belief in network marketing that was a little more challenging.

Once I got over the obstacle of best friends and family smiling politely and telling me they would try the product but not to talk about the opportunity, I knew I needed to think outside the box. I believed in the product and the more I read, the more I realized this business really did change lives. That realization made me want to share it even more. The more I used the products, the more I shared the business. I quickly realized it was not a me business, but rather a we business. I love the fact I do not have to think like I did in the corporate world, in terms of protecting my territory and clients; I can actually share my time helping my team grow their businesses.

The journey to Nation fell into place with belief in me and my team, enthusiasm and activity. Becoming a Nation was definitely a team effort and, once again, showed me the power of networking. Each day, I am amazed at how much fun I am having, spending time with family, old friends and so many new friends, who have come into my life and would have never been there if not for this incredible gift we share. This really is not work; it is a very special gift that may only come along once in a lifetime. I do not know of any business out there that will give someone such an extraordinary opportunity. The potential financial reward and car are awesome, but to pass the gift of Arbonne on to others and better their lives to help them achieve their personal and family goals, is the real reward.

To ENVP Sibley Gammon and ENVP Robyn Lyle: Thank you both for talking to me at the Junior League show. You will never know how much you inspired me that day.

To Melissa Lake: Thank you for stepping up as my first Consultant.

To EAM Lois Miller: Thank you for signing up as a Consultant in one hour.

To DM Kim Nelson: I bet this was the best lunch you ever had.

To my neighbor and friend, ERVP Val Schaefer: Hooray! There are now two white Mercedes-Benzes on our street — yours and mine. I was so excited when you said “yes” to Arbonne. I bet you are, too!

To ERVP Mary Miller, ERVP Jacki Simon, ERVP Bill Simon and RVP Sonya Thatcher: You all are awesome. I am the lucky one!

To AM Corrie Stover: Thanks for believing!

To my husband, EAM Roger, my daughter, RVP Christi, and my longtime girlfriend, AM Michele Kehnert: When you all joined me at the end of June, I knew I was bound for success. I am so thrilled to be able to share this wonderful gift with all of you because you are so special to me.

To President Rita Davenport, Chairman & CEO Bob Henry and the entire Home Office staff: Thank you for your incredible leadership in the skin care industry. We could not be successful without your undying patience and support.

To every member of my team, from our Managers to our Consultants and Clients: You are the lifeline that made this wonderful achievement possible. My greatest joy will be in making all of your Arbonne goals and dreams happen for you! I feel blessed to be surrounded by such a dedicated team. I believe deep in my heart you have been put in my life for a reason. Remember, success comes from believing in yourself and your team. I cannot wait to present you with the keys to your Mercedes-Benzes and celebrate your dreams come true!
