I knew from the beginning that this business was me. However, it took me two years of trials and tribulations to really understand why. My success with Arbonne is the result of “paying it forward.” For me, the Arbonne experience is about giving; giving support, giving the gift of opportunity and committing myself to helping my team achieve their goals. Because in the end what we give is what we get.
Arbonne has given me an amazing gift — and I am not talking about my new Mercedes-Benz — a support system that is uplifting, inspiring and life changing. My upline and my team have taught me so much. I have learned that the power of belief, in myself and others, is magical.
My Arbonne story began when Shelly Rhoads, my friend of over twenty years, gave me an RE9® sample. I loved it! A week later, I was at her house signing up as a Consultant and my Arbonne adventure was underway. Or so I thought … Unfortunately my health took a turn that would put my passion for this company — and my title of District Manager — on hold for the next two years. Luckily Annette Abraham, a dear friend, joined my team and helped me keep my District, and I thank her from the bottom of my heart for sticking by me.
How ironic is it that a woman building a skin care business should be debilitated by a skin condition? You can imagine my frustration! But a parade of doctors, scores of tests and the right medication gave me my life back. As I got to feeling better, another friend, Kirsten Duncan, jumped in feet first and has been going strong ever since. The power of friendship is indeed a very powerful thing!
I must admit that I never thought I would succeed. I would read about all those beautiful women and their successes, and would think that I could never be like them. So I decided to make some changes that would allow me and others to see me in a new and successful light. They say it takes weeks to change a habit and I cannot imagine of a habit that is harder to change than the way you think of yourself. But with the help of my Arbonne family and the amazing support system Arbonne provides, I was able to stay the course. Slowly I started to believe in my ability to do this and my power to make it to RVP. Now, my mission is to pay it forward and help others find that belief.
I would like to thank my husband, Paul, who kept me going when I was sick. There were times when I hit rock bottom with my illness and he would not give up on me or the quest for a cure. He always believed that I would succeed with Arbonne — even at the times that I did not believe it myself.
To my kids, Savannah, 10 and Dominic, 9: Thank you for your patience during the times that my work interfered with your play. A big part of my inspiration has been to show you the value of dreaming and achieving ... What the mind of Mom can conceive and believe, it can achieve.
To Shelly Rhoads: Thank you for the gift of Arbonne, which has given me the privilege of writing my EOA. Thank you for over 20 years of friendship.
To Nancy Wilcox: Thanks for telling me to go find my big girl panties and to actually put them on. I love your no nonsense attitude.
To Beth “Tilt” Williams: Your support and belief sustained me when I needed it most. But above all, our friendship is one of the great gifts I have received from Arbonne.
To Susan Maris: In the two years that I have known you, I have witnessed in you enormous growth that serves as an inspiration to us all.
To Pam Hollenbach: Thanks for finally saying “yes” to Arbonne. You have a great heart and I love your beautiful attention to detail.
To Annette Abraham: Your caring heart and your determination has helped me, and they will carry you to the top.
To Kirsten Duncan: Your professionalism and enthusiasm are like rocket fuel. Thank you!
