“Nothing is impossible if you just have faith and believe.”
What an incredible journey my family and I are experiencing with Arbonne!
My daughter, new NVP Christie Feighan, has built her dream life. Christie was always very shy, and with Arbonne she has been re-born as a confident, outgoing, successful woman. What a transformation! President Rita Davenport supported and loved her during a time of major adversity in our family; never failing to ask about the situation any time they met. Rita is such a testament to what love is all about.
My journey with Arbonne began five years ago when Christie introduced me to the products. She had carried various other professional lines in her salon. I had many horror stories about them, until I had reached a point in my life where soap and water was all I would put on my face. No wonder my skin was as dry as a desert! I tried Arbonne and loved it, so I signed up to get my discount, but I was not going to work this as a business. My husband had just retired from 32 years of teaching and we were enjoying a life of leisure. We certainly were not independently wealthy by any means, but we were at a point in our lives where we had no debt and could live modestly without much concern.
Christie was in qualification for RVP and as her mom, I figured I needed to help, so when she promoted to RVP, I promoted to District Manager. I attended NTC that year in Nashville because Christie was to speak on stage in front of “all those people.” This is something she could never have done before Arbonne. Christie, I am so proud of you! I heard Rita say, “District Manager is a nice place to visit, but you don’t want to stay there.” I thought, “Yes, I do” and that is exactly what I did.
In March of 2004, RVP Rene Sorenson came to my home and wanted to join Arbonne to build a business. Her Why was big and she took off running! I either had to get on the train or get left at the station. I have always been a competitor, so I was not about to get left out, so off we went. Now, unbelievably, we have both just promoted to RVP together! In corporate America, someone would get left behind, but in Arbonne, anyone can climb to the top. Especially when you let your faith be your guide, not only in your business, but in all aspects of your life.
When people read my Eye on Arbonne story, I want them to get a glimpse of what hope means. Hope is what keeps us going through all of the difficulties. It is that joyful expectation that there will be something better if we just hold on and do not give up. That is what I feel the theme “Beacons of Hope” symbolizes, and I want our team to be those hope givers because with Arbonne, we have the keys to a richer, more abundant way of living.
To succeed in this business, it is not about how much you know, but how excited you are. Ignorance on fire is better than knowledge on ice! Rene’s mom, DM Barbara Alewine, would say to people, “Just rub it on (the Arbonne product) and you’ll look better.” So they did, and they bought it, and they looked better! It is that simple.
When I heard ENVP Cecilia Stoll ask, “Would you want to sponsor you?” I realized I could not ask my team to do anything I was not willing to do. I got busy booking Presentations and calling people and filling up my calendar. I also realized that I had to put feet to my prayers, because not only should we ask, but we are expected to do our part to make it happen. Cecilia and ENVP Kathy Lutz have taught me that you are “getting it” when you do not have a clue what you will make that month, but concern yourself with what you can do for others on your team to help them realize their dreams. Thank you both for being such spiritual examples to follow.
Thank you to my husband, Jerry. You have been the love of my life for over 40 years and I have learned to appreciate your strength and wisdom. I also love that you do all the grocery shopping and have my coffee made when I get up. Financially, life was not always easy on a teacher’s salary, so when my Arbonne check came, and it surpassed any check he ever received in those 32 years, he just sat and stared at it and finally said, “This is good!”
I was blessed with two precious daughters who have been my joy. Thank you, Christie, for loving me enough to never give up on me, even though I am sure it was tempting when I was so “uncoachable!” Thank you, Tammie, for always believing I could do anything, even if it was not quite “up to code.” What a wonderful mom you are!
To my son-in-love Michael: You are such an asset to our family with your servant heart.
My precious darling granddaughter, Madison, can tell you all about Arbonne at the young age of 7. You are an incredible blessing to “Paw Paw and Nanny.”
Thank you to new RVP Rene Sorenson for “moving” me. What an example of faith-driven leadership you are! I am so proud of you and your adorable mom. Keep rubbing it on, Barb!
To AM-in-qualification Joni Robertson: My life was enriched the day I entered your salon.
To RVP Stephanie Marchbanks and her on-fire team; DMs, Suzetta Steele, Elaine Tate and Jodi Wilson; Brandi Larson and Nita Sawicki, who are in qualification for DM: My being an RVP is because of each of you and your determination to make it happen. To every Consultant who purchases product at a discount and Client: You are valued and appreciated.
My promotion to RVP is undoubtedly one of my most rewarding accomplishments. I love what I do. I did not think I had a Why and now I realize that God was writing it for me all along. What a wonderful vehicle I have been given to allow me to share these blessings with the world.
