“Keep yourself focused and keep going regardless of your obstacles.”
It is very humbling to be writing my Eye on Arbonne story. The most challenging part of writing it is due to the fact that I have dyslexia, which makes this kind of thing really difficult. I am writing this for anyone who says they want to give up before they even start. My words of advice are to never give up on anything if you have a dream in life. Do you remember dreaming as a child? As we get older, many of us stop dreaming. We become comfortable with the way things are and feel there is nothing we can do to make things better. I never gave up on myself or my team. This business is all about others and helping them achieve their goals.
It all began back in May of 2004, when ERVP Debbie Hoeks shared this wonderful company and its awesome products with me. At that time my health was not good. I had been diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis and was taking medicine for my condition. I was looking for healthy products that would help me feel and look better. Also, my daughter was having a reaction to baby products and I was taking her to the doctor every week. I wanted products that would be safe for my family and me. For about a year, I used Arbonne as a Consultant who purchased product at a discount and fell in love with all the incredible products. At the time, my Why was not big enough to have the vision for building an Arbonne business. Debbie consistently exposed me to Arbonne opportunities and it eventually paid off. After attending the car presentation for ENVP Lance Groenewold, my vision was confirmed. I took home a NutriMinC® RE9 anti-aging skin care product set and realized this business could change my life. I told myself I could do this and decided to begin my own Arbonne journey.
Besides working part time as an interior designer and full time as a mother of two precious children, I did not know of many other jobs I could perform. Arbonne has truly been a blessing for my family and me. Through it, I have learned to leverage my time. The two things that many of us seek in life are time and money. Arbonne has been my vehicle to potentially obtaining them both, and so much more.
My self-confidence has grown and I discovered that each person I meet struggles deep down with their own form of insecurity, despite their differences and backgrounds. This business can be the answer in learning to care less about what others think, since it allows you to realize you have an awesome opportunity, a gift to share with others, whether they see it or not.
I have also learned to lead with the opportunity first. This business is about creating the potential for financial freedom, not about selling products. All you have to do is share it. Continue to ask for referrals and talk to others about the business. In doing so, you may find your business builders and lifelong friends.
It is important to understand that every time someone says no to the opportunity you present to them that they are not saying no to you, personally. Simply remind yourself to have a never-quit attitude because with this business, you are giving hope and opportunity to others, daily. Become a part of Arbonne to stretch yourself to the outer limits and make short-term sacrifices for long-term freedom.
In sharing the gift of Arbonne, you are your office, so always keep your office open. By consistently sharing Arbonne with everyone I come in contact with, I am sure to provide everyone with not only a fantastic product, but a potentially life-changing opportunity.
To my wonderful husband of 15 years, Brett: Thank you for unselfishly supporting me on this journey. You are my biggest supporter, best friend and lifelong partner. I love you more than words can say and look forward to spending more fabulous vacations with you and our family. Not only are you my Why for wanting Arbonne in our life, you are a “great business manager.” To my children, Brandon and Faith: You are the reason I worked so hard and never gave up. I love you more than you will ever know. Thank you for always asking me, “When are you going to get your white Mercedes-Benz?” Thank you both for being my great accountability partners.
To ENVP Jodi Whittemore: Thank you for always being there and supporting me in my business. You are a true inspiration and asset to Arbonne. To ENVPs Rachele and Jerry Nichols: I cannot thank you enough for all your support in this business. You have given me inspiration, hope, wisdom and friendship I will always cherish. You are some of the most generous people I know. To ENVPs Lance Groenewold and Jacque Groenewold: Thank you for letting us partner with you at the “Opportunity” meetings in Frisco, Texas, and for going the extra mile to help my team. You two are true examples of leadership. To ERVP Debbie Hoeks: Thank you for sharing this great gift of Arbonne. I never said no to the business but it was all about timing! It is a blessing to have you as my true friend and sponsor. I always remembered what you told me about belief — that I need to believe in three things: Myself, the company and the products. I love your motto about learning as you earn. I know you are going to be a terrific National Vice President very soon. To ERVP Amy Whitney: Thank you for all the encouragement when I needed a positive attitude about my business. It has been a true blessing getting to know you through Arbonne. You are such a beautiful person and I look forward to your success as a National Vice President.
To EAM Allison Migl and AM Jennifer Livesey: Thank you for being my first business builders and for your faith in me. I cannot think of anything more wonderful than doing something so fun with your sister and best friend. We started this fabulous journey together and have come a long way. You are on your way to RVP and I love you both very much! To EAM Nichole Smith: I do not know where to begin. All that I can say is I love those Consultants who purchase product at a discount. Thank you for trusting this was not all about lipstick and makeup. I knew you would see the opportunity because of your special talents for leadership and training. I am so very proud of you and when my Eye on Arbonne story comes, out I know you will be an RVP and driving your own Mercedes-Benz! To EDM Julie Fowler: You won the award for perseverance and patience in this business. I never gave up on you because I believed in you from the beginning. You have no idea how you made me feel when I heard you say that all I needed to tell you was, “You can do this!” Investing time in people is what it is all about, while helping others succeed personally and spiritually. To all my DMs: You are working very hard. I am so blessed to have you on my team. Develop a no-matter-what attitude and I know all of you will make it to the top. I look forward to attending all of your car presentations. To all my Consultants: The opportunities in this business are endless. My desire for each of you is to write your own Eye on Arbonne story and I want you all to have successful Arbonne businesses. It will get challenging, but I will help and encourage you every step of the way. I hope to instill my passion and belief in you and your businesses.
To my family, friends, Consultants who purchase product at a discount and loyal Clients: Thank you for your willingness to support my Arbonne business. To my parents: You stood beside me and supported me each day of my life. I cannot thank you enough for the person you have helped me become. I love you both very much! I really appreciate my in-laws for always being there to help with the children whenever I needed them. I am so blessed to be married to your son, Brett. To my aunt Jen: Thank you for supporting me on my journey and babysitting your niece and nephew when I was attending monthly meetings.
To President Rita Davenport: Thank you for the lovely phone call you made to me when I reached RVP. To the Home Office staff: Thank you for all your hard work and dedication.
Most importantly, I want to thank God for believing in me, building my character and making me into the person I have become today. Faith means believing in something you cannot see and all things really are possible with faith.
I challenge you to dream of how your life can change. Dreams do not just happen. Your future is up to you and if you would like to really live your dreams, you must take chances in life. Do not give up! Find your dreams, work toward them, help others along the way and you will get back more than you gave. Keep dreaming because dreams do come true!
