As children, we dream big, until ever-increasing responsibilities obscure those dreams. Fortunately, I am now able to serve as a real-life example to my children that dreams can become reality. With commitment, perseverance, a supportive family and an incredible team, you too can have it all with Arbonne! Arbonne is not just an exemplary health and wellness company with the corner on the anti-aging skin care market; it can be a vehicle that allows you to take control of your life and your future.
I am a pediatric nurse practitioner by trade, and mother of three beautiful children. I never imagined myself doing anything other than medicine. I certainly never imagined myself selling skin care products. I find it ironic that, with Arbonne, I am able to give back in a much broader way by helping others reach for their dreams. It has certainly brought hope and a newfound optimism to our future.
I believe as women we feel we need to do it all—balancing our lives, being present for our children, maintaining a successful career, being a loving wife, a good friend and giving back to others. I found that making these goals a reality was not possible prior to starting my Arbonne business.
In October of 2007, I had reached a point in my life where I felt like further growth along my career path was impractical. I had earned my Masters Degree and was just plugging along in the daily grind. This meant leaving my children in the hands of a nanny and coming home far too exhausted to enjoy them. Ultimately, I was left feeling inadequate at home and at work. I remember thinking, is this it? I was hoping for more out of life: More time with my family, financial freedom and the resources to make a difference in other’s lives.
After a great deal of discussion with my husband, I left my job to be home with our children, but that luxury came at a price. My husband’s workload increased to 70-100 hours a week, which would never be sustainable over the long term. I knew I needed to be home with our children, but I also felt the need to unburden my husband by making a significant financial contribution to our household. This would not be an easy task. My time with my children is so precious. When my four year old learned I would be staying home, I recall him saying: “I’m so happy, I don’t have words!” Then, a few months after leaving my job, we found out we were pregnant with our third and last child. At that point, I knew traditional work would not be an option for me.
In April 2008, I was invited to my first Arbonne party at NVP Tarrah Brandsma’s home. I had never heard of Arbonne and was simply going in order to meet my new neighbors. I fell in love with the products and could not believe the visible difference I saw in my skin. What I learned about the incredible business opportunity was life changing! Here was a chance to work part time from home, make replacement or lifestyle income, drive a white Mercedes-Benz, take my life and my family’s future into my own hands, and start fulfilling the dreams which had been put on hold.
I was excited to share this with my husband, who is a very skeptical person. I knew that if this were some kind of “get rich quick,” he would never go along. But after we looked over the SuccessPlan and learned more about network marketing, we realized that it is a brilliant way to do business. So I jumped in with both feet, and despite having no business experience, promoted to Area Manager in three months and to Regional Vice President in 14 months. I got incredible training and guidance from my upline every step of the way. Most importantly, I made the decision, from day one, not to quit.
I have had to face down my own fears and overcome obstacles for the sake of my family’s future. I have had to grow tremendously in order to be successful with Arbonne. We are all offered the same opportunity with Arbonne; it is your choice to take control of your life and create the life of your dreams.
I want to thank my loving husband. He believed in me even when I doubted myself. He has kept me strong and focused and has inspired me to never stop growing. We adore him and appreciate all he does for our family. Dave, I love you!
My incredible children, Andrew, Jacquie and Olivia, inspire me to be the best I can be. They keep me honest and are my biggest cheerleaders. They have taught me to appreciate all of the little things in life. I love them more than words can say!
