My Arbonne journey began when my husband’s job required him to travel to California. We are both Georgia natives and had lived in California for three years during the early ‘90s. While living there, we became friends with Kristin and Daryl VanderVeen, and had kept in touch over the years. My husband, Chip, visited the VanderVeens during a business trip to California in May 2004, when Kristin gave him Arbonne sample products for me to try. I used the products and could see results after only three days. I bought the NutriMinC® RE9 skin care line, as well as additional products, and slowly began to consider Arbonne as a business.
After talking with Kristin and learning more about her Arbonne business, I was amazed at the rapid success she had achieved. As a registered dietitian, I enjoyed my work and was not looking for a home-based business. However, the more I learned about Arbonne, the more impressed I became. We are at a point in our lives where college expenses and retirement will soon be a reality. Arbonne’s potential for extra income to help out in these areas in the future was very attractive. The Arbonne pledge of “pure, safe and beneficial” personal care products, together with the integrity of the company, definitely helped me make the decision to build a business. Kristin came to Georgia in February 2005 to help launch my business. At that time, I never imagined she and her family would come back to Georgia in less than a year to attend my Mercedes-Benz presentation, but that is exactly what happened!
It has been an amazing journey so far! I am very blessed to be where I am today. I owe so much to God and the many people who have helped me get to this point. It had been my husband’s prayer for several years that we would own our own business which the entire family could be involved with. He never dreamed I would be the one starting that business or that it would be in the skin care industry! We like to use the analogy of an abundant harvest when discussing this business because it is so fitting. We strongly believe we reap what we sow whether it is generosity, kindness, love or even abundance. I have made it a priority to sow abundantly in my business and I am grateful to be in a position to begin reaping some of the harvest.
I have learned many lessons during my Arbonne journey and have experienced unbelievable personal growth as a result. I have learned to not hesitate and to overcome timidity. Words spoken by an ENVP recently at an Arbonne training in Kentucky really hit home when she said, “While one person hesitates for feeling inferior, another person is making mistakes and making themselves superior.” This is great advice. I encourage everyone to act quickly now, and learn about the products and company while growing your business. I have also learned that constant and consistent activity is the key to success. Dreams become reality when we truly believe and take action. Finally, this business has strengthened my understanding of the value of relationships and the power of prayer. This is a people business and we can only succeed by helping others.
I want to thank the many people who have helped me on my Arbonne journey. Special thanks to my dear friend and sponsor, ENVP Kristin VanderVeen, for introducing me to Arbonne.
