I was introduced to Arbonne in January of 2005 at a “pampering party” my friend, now ERVP Tina Olsen, hosted for her neighbor, NVP Renee Scott. Since I was not a person who was into skin care, I was there for support and a girl’s night out. I had no idea my life would be changed forever.
At this time, I was at a crossroads with my personal and professional life. After having the best of both worlds for the last three years, teaching part time and staying home with my two girls, my husband and I had a difficult decision to make. Because we chose to ignore our true financial situation, our debt continued to grow uncontrollably. We had come to a point where we had nowhere else to turn. In order to survive in our current living situation, I had to go back to work full time. I loved teaching, but felt torn that I was missing out on my own children’s lives. At the end of each day, I was exhausted, emotionally drained and felt like an inadequate teacher, mom, wife and friend. Most importantly, I did not truly believe our financial situation would ever be resolved. I knew this was not how I wanted to live my life. I did not want my life to be controlled by emotional stress related to money issues. I realized something drastic had to happen and I was not sure what that was.
During that first Presentation, I soaked up what ENVP Amme Weilert was saying about how successful she had become, and in such a short time. She was on her way to working her Arbonne business full time. I could not believe it! Could this possibly be the answer to our financial stress? I decided it would not hurt to try this business for fun. What did I have to lose? If I could take some of the financial stress off of our shoulders, it would be worth it. I jumped in with both feet, without having any idea of the true potential of this opportunity. I was not completely sold that I could be successful. I was an elementary teacher for the last 10 years, with no sales experience. I did not know how to sell anything, especially skin care products. Still, because the products practically sell themselves, I was able to succeed rather quickly. I received my first paycheck and finally knew something was working. I kept my faith the system would work if I kept doing what I had been taught. Within six months of working Arbonne consistently, I became an Area Manager and was able to go back to part-time work. As my husband continued to remind me; however, we were still two poor teachers living from paycheck to paycheck. So, I decided to make a new goal of becoming a financially free, stay-at-home mom. I was determined to make this happen, and I set a goal to walk out with my students on the last day of school without looking back. It is amazing what you can do if you just put your mind to it. I am now confident that our dream of becoming financially free will be a reality in the near future.
I have heard it several times that Arbonne is a personal growth company, masked by an incredible health and wellness company that sells phenomenal products. In order for you to grow in your business, you must have faith in yourself. Unfortunately, this is where a lot of people give up. If you do not believe you can do this business, you will not succeed. By stepping out of your comfort zone, you not only grow as a person, but as a leader. With each failure, another success is around the corner. Once you have built up your belief in yourself, others will follow. The beauty of network marketing is in the teamwork. The only way you can really make it to the top in Arbonne is with a team that is constantly working together. There is nothing more rewarding than helping someone else reach their goal. I have been fortunate to have so many incredible leaders who paved the path to the top for me and my team. Listen and follow your leaders. Do not reinvent the wheel. Do it the way that has worked for so many others: The Arbonne way.
