Wow. What a journey. Less than two years ago, I was waiting tables, wondering how I was ever going to survive a life of being an artist. I am an actress and singer and have always known that there is nothing else I would rather do. However, I got a big reality check after my college graduation in 2003, when I entered the real world. I worked four jobs: I was a temp in corporate America, I was a personal trainer, I worked at the Grand Lux Café in Chicago and I was a substitute teacher. I did not want to give up my passion for performing, so I accepted the fact that I would be living my life paycheck-to-paycheck as a stereotypical “starving artist” until I got my big break. Thankfully, I was introduced to Arbonne by my sponsor, ERVP Leah Wagner. She called me in May of 2005 and said she had to talk to me about her new business. I got it and jumped in right away – jumped, and was at last able to take flight.
Arbonne has changed my life because it has taught me to dream again. I had succumbed to the idea that I was going to live a life in which other people told me what to do and where to be. I had accepted the fact that I would have to wait until I got my big break, and until then never take vacations, rent instead of buy, never give back to my parents or charity, and always be financially stressed. Now, I can wake up when I want, take control of my acting career (my Arbonne business is funding my move to New York City next year so I can pursue my dream of being on Broadway), take my health and fitness up a notch, be involved with causes that I am passionate about, and spend more time with my family and friends. I am thrilled to help every teammate have this freedom. We are the “defy gravity” Region. That is my team motto because of a song in my favorite musical that has inspired me to take risks, be audacious and follow my dreams. That is what my team is all about.
Along the journey, I faced my fears and examined and conquered my insecurities while stepping out of my comfort zone. I had to work on myself first and become a person that others wanted to follow. I made some mistakes, but I knew that if I persisted and persevered, I would get there. It is very hard to put into words how unique and powerful this opportunity, the products and the company are. Arbonne is not just another job; it is a financial asset for the future. As Arbonne Consultants, we are educators of health and wellness and it is our job to teach people to take better care of themselves, inside and out. The business is about freedom not only financially, but also freedom to choose how to spend your time. This opportunity can offer someone the power to take control of their life and do whatever they want with it. There is so much skepticism, negativity and doubt in this world, and Arbonne is a breath of fresh air that encourages people to live every day with abundance, positive energy, joy and passion.
