When Arbonne came into my life in March of 2003, I had no idea my life would change dramatically! At the time, I was a busy chiropractor, with hardly any time to spend with my family. I owned my own practice, so in order for it to be successful, I had to be there. Working more than 50 hours a week was not what I had dreamed my life would be like. I was very blessed with great patients and a nice income, however, there were other plans in store for me.
From the moment my daughter was born, everything changed. I wanted to be a stay-at-home mom. The desire grew more and more each day, however, the reality was that I had to work. I loved my practice but my family and freedom meant more to me.
I was tired of working away from my family. My daughter was in and out of daycares and spending a few hours at night with her was not enough. I was tired. I longed for a different life. My own dreams were put on the back burner. I wanted more, I wanted to be home. Little did I know Arbonne would soon come knocking at my door.
My life changed the day I was given a skin care sample pack and Product Catalogue from a friend of ENVP Valerie Edwards. I tried the products and loved them. I was very interested in learning more about the products and possibly implementing them into my practice. Soon after, Valerie showed up at my home to go over more information. She really impressed me with her nowledge and her love for Arbonne. Initially, my idea was to present some products to my patients to free up more hours for myself.
Over the next couple of months I began to get online. I found myself reading stories about other successful women leaving their careers to do Arbonne. Then, during the last week of May 2003, I was putting my daughter to bed and I was so sad because I knew I had to take her to daycare in the morning. I sat there wondering why I had chosen a career that would take me away from my child, while other women like Valerie, had taken the road to freedom.
Suddenly, it hit me. I could build an Arbonne business! I made the decision that night to pursue Arbonne to free me up so that I could be with my family.
It took me exactly two years to reach this goal. Did I have my up and downs? Certainly. That is what makes this a journey for most. I began my Arbonne business as most Consultants do, with Presentations.
I struggled the first year in finding serious business builders. I did not have a system in place and almost quit. During those times, Valerie would keep me positive. She even had President Rita Davenport call me. What an awesome woman! As the REsults Approach surfaced, I felt it was the answer for women who worked long hours as I did. I now had a plan.
My team followed and we were soon on our way. By implementing Presentations and the REsults Approach, everyone had a chance at success. As we grew closer to Region, I put my practice up for sale. I became pregnant in January and knew I had to promote to RVP.
We finished qualification for Region in August, one month ahead of schedule. My practice sold the same week and now I am free to be with my family. Having the freedom to make the choice in life is a blessing — one that takes commitment and work. Having diligence, a plan, finding new friends along the way, and most importantly, helping others find their purpose, has been great. I believe that if I had not been a chiropractor first, this opportunity may never have come my way.
I first want to thank God for always walking beside me and knowing when the timing would be right.
