I'm so excited to have achieved this step of Regional Vice President. It's not about the Mercedes-Benz (although that's definitely a perk) ... it's about the wonderful relationships that have come from this business and the chance to see so many wonderful women and men moving on to achieve their goals. Arbonne is all of this and so much more.
The We Can Fly Region name is from one of my favorite artist/philosophers Bill Worrell. To quote his incredible verse from the We Can Fly Shaman Sculpture: “Watch what people tell you. Don't believe it all without examination. Some will tell you that humans can't fly. But you and I know better than that ... at least I do ... and I hope that you do too. If no one ever flew, nothing new would ever happen.”
My first introduction to Arbonne was in 1995 when my son Scott Riffle called and told me that he was quitting his corporate job to become a full-time Consultant with Arbonne. My response was, “Are you crazy? Have you lost your mind?” You see, at the time I was a network marketing snob. I was a CPA with a Master's Degree in finance and I thought that network marketing was the kind of business where you simply recruited bodies to build your way to the top. My only experience in the industry was from clients who would call me to schedule an appointment and get my advice about a business opportunity that they were thinking about ... often network marketing. Silly me I thought that they wanted my professional opinion in evaluating the business potential but they really were trying to recruit me!
All the while Scott and his wife Missy kept “dripping” on me and encouraging me to try samples of an Arbonne product. I was resistant of course since I thought my department store products were just fine, thank you very much. It was on my 48th birthday when I realized that the face staring back at me in the mirror was aging faster than I was inside. I finally broke down and tried the Bio-Hydria® line ... I fell in love and the rest is history!
My mother always used to say that I had a stubborn streak and thank goodness for that trait because it is exactly what I needed to keep me plugging along in my Arbonne business. I joined the company in November of 1997 and thought that I would just order my own personal products at the discount and thereby help my daughter-in-law Wynn Riffle with her business.
I was surprised when I became intrigued with the business opportunity and compensation plan and decided that it was something I really wanted to do. My belief in the products and the company was there almost immediately and it has only continued to grow with time. My belief in the overall industry took a little longer to evolve. I had a major mental block to overcome before I could really promote the business as I needed to.
I want to thank Phoebe James, Teresa Mather, Ruth Hadlock, Missy Riffle, Scott Riffle and Wynn Riffle for the training and coaching they have given me and for providing the tools that I needed to build my belief in this industry. I once heard Rita Davenport say that her “exit plan with Arbonne” ... would be death! I believe I can say the same thing ... I'm in Arbonne for life.
I'd like to thank my wonderful team of people who have worked so hard. I congratulate you all and hope you know that you're the best!
Thank you also to my wonderful husband Neal for believing in me and to my family and friends who have supported me. My mother will always be by my side even though she didn't get a chance to experience Arbonne; she would have loved it!
