“Take risks, be passionate and create the reality you dream of!”
On August 17, 1990, I faced one of the biggest decisions of my life — one that would forever change my destiny, my life and who I would become. I grew up in a small town in New Jersey, and one day decided I was going to California. I packed up what I could fit into my car and started my journey. On August 17th, as the Bay Bridge came into view, a wave of emotion swept over me. Fear gripped my heart and I could barely breathe. As I pulled off the highway, I realized that I had no plan, no place to stay, no job lined up and knew absolutely no one. What was I doing?
At that moment, I also realized I had left behind all that was familiar to me. Yet, here I was. The Bay Bridge was my path into the unknown, the unfamiliar. Although I did not have the vaguest idea of what might lie over that bridge, I knew that I had arrived at a critical personal crossroad. Was I more fearful of turning back or moving forward?
The thought of not going forward meant surrendering to a lifetime of wondering and regret. It would be a life of “what ifs.” Would I ever truly realize the person I was meant to be? Even though I just drove across country, I knew that my journey had just begun. My body shook, my stomach churned and I cried all the way over that bridge, but I knew in my heart that this was my chance at a new beginning. It was my opportunity to take charge and create the life for myself I dreamed of. That moment remains forever etched in my mind, heart and soul.
In June of 2005, another life-changing decision presented itself when I was introduced to Arbonne.
For the majority of my life, I have been dealing with rosacea. I have spent years seeking medical help and spending money on ineffective prescriptions. This was the unfortunate hand I had been dealt and I would have to learn to live with it. Each day I would try and camouflage the redness with thick, heavy foundation. In stressful situations, I would experience a severe breakout that would take up to two months to go away and no amount of makeup could hide it.
A friend introduced me to Arbonne, but I was reluctant to try it. I had a product graveyard under the sink and did not want to add more to it. After witnessing the change in her skin, I decided to try it and was completely shocked and surprised at my results. Within two months, the redness had improved and my face transformed.
My life has changed both physically and emotionally. I knew I had to share this with everyone and my Arbonne business was born in August of 2005. My belief in the products and the company was solid. But, I really did not understand network marketing and I feared failure. It would definitely require me to step outside of my comfort zone to even get started! How was this going to work for me? Here I was, at another crossroad. Making the decision (despite the fear) to pursue an incredible opportunity with an amazing company turned out to be a decision that ultimately changed my life, and my family’s life, in so many wonderful ways. I am able to continue to stay home with my children, along with my husband, to create a lifestyle in which we can enjoy our time together and are able to realize our dreams.
My journey with Arbonne has been challenging and fearful at times, but I have refused to quit. Fear is usually the reason we avoid the unfamiliar road, even though an amazing opportunity awaits us there. Rather than taking steps toward the realization of our dreams, we focus instead on all of the challenges that might prevent our success. And although we consider it, we continue along the familiar, foregoing opportunities, passions, dreams. Soon, we forget about them altogether.
The journey of self-discovery and personal growth is perhaps the most significant mountain I have climbed with Arbonne. I realize it is not about the destination, but the path itself, which creates a life. It is our journey — the avenues we choose and the risks we are willing to take — that creates who we ultimately become. I have experienced a dramatic transformation within myself and I have met the most incredible people with whom I have developed treasured friendships! One of the most rewarding and fulfilling aspects of Arbonne is that I have the opportunity and ability to help others make immeasurable changes in their own lives.
