Never in a million years would I have thought that two years after accepting a skin care sample pack I would be writing my own Eye on Arbonne story! NVP Kristin Vander Veen approached me and offered me an Arbonne skin care sample pack. I had never heard of Arbonne before, and truthfully, I was a bit skeptical. I had tried everything out there and nothing, to that point, had made a difference. Just about everything that we needed a product for, Arbonne had! This was fantastic. “What was this company? Why am I here? And, what else can it do for my family and me?” Those were some of the questions floating around in my head as I continued to sell Arbonne as a means of additional income.
Since my dad is a physician, everything that I would hear about a product, or an ingredient, I would ask him. Then, when my dog had a deep cyst, and the Veterinarian advised me that it would take months to heal, I tried the Rejuvenating Cream on her. Two weeks later when the cyst was gone, amazingly the skin around it had healed with no scabbing, and already had hair re-growth. That was the point that I thought, I might as well try this, what do I have to lose?
Now, one-and-a-half years after making that statement, I am patiently awaiting the arrival of my brand-new Mercedes-Benz wagon; what an incredible blessing this has been for my family and me. I started off thinking that if I could make enough money to pay my children’s school tuition, I would be happy. Now, I look at my paycheck and realize it can pay more than just tuition.
I previously owned a children’s specialty store. In the 10 years that I owned and operated that business, I cannot say that it even compares to the benefits and opportunities that I have found in my short time with Arbonne. I was self-employed, but did not have that very important “residual income,” or the flexibility that I now have with my current work hours. I have found self-fulfillment, financial security, and most importantly, self-growth with Arbonne.
Becoming a Consultant has opened so many doors. I can now plan the future of my family. Arbonne has opened our eyes to understand that our future solely depends on us … not anyone else. We determine where we go, how we get there and how much fun we can have along the way.
This statement sums up my Arbonne business in a nutshell: The finish line is just the beginning of a new race. Each day we work hard to reach our goal for the month, just to start over again. I have found myself sitting in front of my computer — with great pride over my achievements and those of my team on the last day of the month — just to open up my stats the next morning to see another big, fat zero! But then I realized all of the work we have just done was an incredible achievement that will lead to many more success stories!

Even though I always challenge your ideas and suggestions, I really appreciate that you both understand my personality, and know that I will agree with you. To NVP Kristin Vander Veen: One thing, “What part of this is a part-time job?” How do I ever thank you for going outside of your comfort zone and introducing me to this wonderful opportunity? I appreciate your patience with my not-so-conventional ways. You are an inspiration to follow.
To my sister, RVP Tory Brandt: Remember NTC 2004 Texas? You were so concerned about not having any ribbons attached to your name badge. Well, NTC 2005 Las Vegas will prove to be a different story! I will be so proud to see the many, well-deserved ribbons at the upcoming NTC — along with the title of RVP. Being on stage together means so much to me. You have been a pillar of strength on my team. Thanks for always listening to me, giving great advice and powerful encouragement.
To DMs Kelley Galler and Susan Silva, and AM Karin Timmerman: They say it is hard to work with family or friends; this is not the case with you three. Thank you for your belief in me and in Arbonne. I cannot wait for your well-deserved success. Thanks for being my friends and partners in Arbonne.
To all of my wholesale buyers: I could not have done this without every order you have placed. You are the foundation that holds my business together. Each one of you believes in Arbonne enough to use the products faithfully and share them with your families and friends.
To my husband, Damon: You have shown me, by your example, what dedication really is. You understand the importance of this business, and have encouraged and supported me. You stepped in for me, helped out with the kids, and took on many more household chores. And last but not least, I want to thank my mom, Loretta Lusby, because after two years, she now believes in me enough to try the Arbonne products and realizes that they are in fact superior to soap!
