“Once you decide to get committed, the doors of opportunity open.”
Little did I know, signing on as an Arbonne Consultant in June of 1995 would turn into one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. Not only have I been blessed with a lifestyle I want for my family, but I have an opportunity to help others achieve their dreams. There is nothing more gratifying than helping others succeed.
At the time I was introduced to Arbonne, I was at a crossroads in my professional life. With a background as a publicist in the Nashville music industry, I had created a “niche” for myself that was not marketable in other industries. I had always dreamed of being in business for myself — but the self-employed people I knew did not really own their business; it owned them. I wanted more choices in my life. When I was gifted with an Arbonne skin care sample, I had never heard of this Swiss-formulated product line. But after one application, I immediately called Arbonne to order more!
I am still amazed at how a skin care sample changed the course of my professional future and my personal life forever. I met my sponsor, ENVP Cheryl Kemp, who was an Area Manager at the time. When she explained the potential residual income opportunity connected to this wonderful product, I could not wait to get started. A unique, consumable product connected to a solid opportunity … it was the answer to my prayers! Ever since I signed on to do this business, I have never looked back! I promoted to Regional Vice President 18 months later.
As my Arbonne business grew, so did our family — four children within five years. My business has given me the flexibility to be there for our boys. I love the fact that I have two careers. The one with Arbonne enhances and supports the one I have as a “mommy” and wife. My husband and I count our blessings every day that daycare has never been a consideration. I love my thirty-second commute to my home office and the experiences my children have watching me work. Our boys have grown up with Arbonne as our family business. My 6-year-old son, Will, said to me recently, “Mommy, does everyone do Arbonne?” His older brother was quick to respond, “No, but they should!”
Through this business, I have discovered so much about myself and have developed a genuine passion to help others. My husband, Mark, says the greatest reward is giving others hope for the future. I have witnessed firsthand the potential power this business has for transforming lives. It gives you the peace of mind that comes from being able to take back control of your life, time and financial future. By leveraging my time, I can work 10 hours a week and have the potential to get paid for 110 hours, and then some. I have created a residual income that has the potential to increase monthly, whether I am working or not. That is the power of network marketing.
My success did not come without its share of challenges. There have been rejection, disappointments, no shows, starting over in another state and moments of complete chaos with phones ringing, babies crying, laundry piled up, and so much more. If you are a parent reading my Eye on Arbonne success story, you know where I am coming from! However, the greatest obstacle in my path was “me.” To reach my goals, I had to overcome my own self doubt and fears. I also had to shift the focus off of myself and concentrate on the needs of others. Focusing on helping others makes getting out of your comfort zone so much easier.
Through it all, I never lost sight of my goals. I fully expected to promote to NVP in Arbonne, even if it took me 10 years. And it did! My favorite quote says it is worse to have sight with no vision than it is to be blind. You must have vision to stay the course. The minute “the fog” rolls in and you cannot see where you are going, it is easy to quit. But I am living proof that it is never a matter of “if” you will make it, just “when.” So, do not quit before payday! I tell my new Consultants that they must make small sacrifices in the beginning, but the long-term rewards are so worth it! The lifestyle that Mark and I have created for our family would not have been possible without our Arbonne business. We are most proud of being able to provide the best private education for our boys and recently purchased our dream home on seven acres of land.
The very best part of my Arbonne business is working as a team. I am blessed with so many wonderful people who empower me to be the best every day.
First of all, to my husband, Mark: You traveled down this road with me every step of the way. I know it has not always been easy for you. None of this would be possible without your love and support all these years, and your willingness to take care of whatever needed to be done. Thanks for helping me fulfill our dream!
To my children, Joseph, Matthew, Will and Christopher: Every morning when I see your little faces, I am reminded of the reason I keep going, even when it is not easy. You all are my greatest joys. I love you!
To my parents, Ron and Linda Dunn: I am so grateful for the unconditional love and support you have given me my entire life. To Mark’s parents, Mary and Harry Simon: Thanks for your help with the boys. To my aunt who was my first Area Manager, Penny Wallace: Your efforts helped launch my business and I will always be grateful. To all of my extended family and friends: You make a difference in my business and in my life. Thank you!
To my sponsor and wonderful friend, ENVP Cheryl Kemp: Thanks for the gift of Arbonne. You changed my life!
To my upline, ENVPs, Teresa Epps, Carol Waugh, Euphiazene Linder and Donna Johnson: Without your training and leadership none of this would be possible. To ENVP Janet Elliott: You are so much fun! Thank you for reaching out to my team and for all the words of encouragement.
To my VP “Dream Team” composed of Stacey Shanks, Yvette Walts, Laura Fraser, Connie Howard, Rosie Brown, Linda Luker and Staci Holweger: It is a dream career when you get to work with friends who bring out the best in you. You all are the very best part of my Arbonne journey. I am so proud of the leaders you have become! To all of our rising stars: Much gratitude goes to our Area Managers, District Managers, Consultants and Clients who make up the Jennifer Simon Nation. It is a joy and privilege to work with you every day. My success depends on your success. Hold onto your dreams!
To Founder Petter Mørck, President Rita Davenport, Chairman & CEO Bob Henry, Executive Vice President Stian Mørck, Sr. VP of Product Development & Field Events, Candee Keefe; the Executive Team and the entire Home Office staff: Thank you all for your incredible talents, vision and commitment to simply being the best.
Being successful in Arbonne is really as simple as making a choice. It is about deciding to make a commitment, putting our business system into action and most importantly, believing in yourself!
