“Take your business seriously, work diligently, lead by example and one day your business will have the potential to seriously take care of you!”
“Ordinary People, Extraordinary potential … It is not a matter of “if” you will succeed; it is just a matter of “when” you will succeed … Don’t quit before payday … Work your business like it is all up to you, and pray for your business … Lead by example … You are a business builder magnet and you can’t help but sponsor business builders … Remember the reward is bigger than all the sacrifices ….” These are the thoughts that have gone through my mind the past few years. I knew it was just a matter of time before Arbonne had the potential to make my dreams a reality.
Six years ago, Meloni Barkley introduced me to Arbonne through a sample pack, and, after trying it, it became obvious to me that these products were unsurpassed in quality. After she bribed me to hear about the Arbonne opportunity, I decided to sign up. I began my Arbonne journey hopeful, scared and financially challenged.
Meloni had her hands full because I was a whiner who she constantly had to motivate. After working my business for four years I had built a solid team of wholesale buyers, but could not attract business builders to save my life. At that time, my focus was on helping me and not helping others. Though I loved the products, I was in Arbonne for the wrong reasons. Then September 11, 2001 changed the world forever. I think that sometimes it takes major events to help us get our priorities straight. That dark day caused me to take a hard look at myself. For the first time in our lives my husband and I decided to follow our dreams rather than allow our circumstances to dictate our lives. This led us to start our family, and led me to pursue a future with Arbonne. The decision to have a baby became the primary motivating factor that drove me to work my business and to become a leader.
In November 2001, I attended an Arbonne Mercedes car presentation. When I saw Misty Whitfield reach her goal, I knew I could too. I soon became an Area Manager. I was determined to improve my skills so I sought training in any way I could. I listened to training tapes from successful Arbonne Consultants. I attended every training, even when I didn’t feel like it, and soon, I incorporated the strategy of consistently doing six to eight classes a month for the next twelve months. I learned everything I could from those who had been successful before me.
In the middle of all this we found out I was expecting our first child. The good news gave me a sense of urgency. My first priority was to raise my child and I was determined to be at home with him during these first few years, and to do that I had to build my business smart and fast. Teaching Arbonne classes after work, while uncomfortably pregnant, was challenging. I was tired, but I knew it was short term. Sometimes my house was a little messy, dinner was frozen, and we had to wear clothes that needed washing, but it was these small sacrifices that soon gave us a life we could only dream of! Before my baby was born, my business had grown and allowed me to quit my full time job in corporate America. The day after I quit, all but five of the employees at my office were laid off. Perfect timing, thankfully Arbonne is a part of a recession proof industry.
On September 11, 2002, one year to the day after we made our life changing decision, our beautiful inspiration arrived. Silas Winston Thorn was born in the middle of my qualification for Regional Vice President. Soon after, Arbonne gave me a classy Mercedes - Benz when I officially promoted to Regional Vice President. I had reached my goal. I was an Arbonne RVP making incredible money, and I soon learned that success breeds success. I kept meeting people who needed this business and I couldn’t help but tell them my story. I soon discovered that there are people all around me looking for the same things we were looking for and God had put me in the unique place to be able to tell them how to find it.
In less than two years, I went from a District Manager, to the 35th National Vice President in Arbonne’s history! If I can do it, so can you! I love helping people, changing lives, giving my family financial security, and being at home with my now one-year old baby boy. This is why I love Arbonne.
Today, I make more money in one month, than I made in a year working at corporate America. I drive a new Mercedes, I get to travel with my family to beautiful places courtesy of Arbonne, and I daily get to see others realize their dreams. Because of Arbonne, my husband was able to quit his full time job to pursue his dream and spend more time with our son. As a “work at home” mommy; I teach my son that if you work and pray hard you can do anything! I have seen his first smile, his first time to sit up, his first steps and I am still able to make an incredible income. Now I get to help others have what I have.
Thank you Arbonne for this opportunity, thank you Meloni Barkley for introducing me to this business and for teaching me persistence pays off! I love you! This is your time now! Thank you to Silas Winston: you will never know how much I love you, I would do anything for you, this Arbonne legacy is just a small way that I can show you this love. You and your future siblings have stolen my heart forever. To my God: there are no words to describe what your love has done inside me. Just as you laid down your life to set me free, I want to lay down my life for those who need freedom. Thank you for the platform you have entrusted me with, help me to live my best life for You.
