“Just do it. Believe you can accomplish huge things and expect miracles.”
Today marks exactly one year from the day I decided to start my Arbonne business. From that day on, I have imagined writing this miraculous story of how I reached RVP quickly and inspired others to succeed. Instead, this journey has tested my belief, faith and perseverance.
I need to begin by thanking those who built my belief and encouraged me to work hard no matter what. I want to thank God. There are no words to express how I feel. All I can say is, He is great and awesome.
To my husband, Scott: It has been a long journey since junior high, hasn’t it? Nothing will suffice to express the gratitude I feel for all you have done. Thanks for pushing me and believing in me. I love you very much. You are the best husband and daddy in the whole world. To my son, Jared: Even though you were only 3-months-old when mommy started, you brought a smile to my face whenever I needed a break. You are going to be the best big brother.
To ENVP Deanna Osborn: The most precious thing you have passed on to me is your friendship and your gift of faith. I will cherish these things forever. You have been an exemplary leader and have shown such wisdom, discernment and encouragement in the times when I needed it most.
To ENVP Lisa Voorhies: There could not be a more fitting name than “motivation mama.” Thank you for sharing your caring heart and passion. Just hearing you on Sunday night conference calls has done wonders for me.
To my crossline, ENVP Cathy Epperson: There are so many things I could say. Thank you for adopting me into your Arbonne family, and for adopting my family into yours.
To our beloved President Rita Davenport: I love the way you captivate your audience. You make each and every one of us feel special and loved. Your humor picks me up anytime I am down. Thank you.
To DM Laura McLaughlin and Cassie Simon: I would not have discovered Arbonne had it not been for you.
I first discovered Arbonne during my junior year of high school. Around the same time, my mom found out she had breast cancer. We had to make significant lifestyle changes. I attended a Presentation and was impressed with Arbonne’s pure, safe and beneficial principles. I purchased a Basics normal to oily skin care set and used it faithfully for four years. I had no idea there was an option to become a Consultant. However, I never pictured myself becoming involved in the skin care and cosmetics industry. I dreamed of creating an opportunity that allowed families, especially single parents, to work from home with the skills they already possessed, and be able to earn a decent income. However, I thought I would need seniority in the business world first. For a long time, I had my life planned out. I was going to become a millionaire by the time I was 27, get married and then have children — in that order.
My husband and I got married on January 4, 2003, when he was 20 and I was 19. We were both raised in Los Angeles and lived near our extended families. We decided to take “leave and cleave,” literally, and move, in order to focus on our first year of marriage. God led us to Louisville, Kentucky. Seven months after our move, we found out we were pregnant with our first son, Jared. It was toward the end of my pregnancy when I ran out of Arbonne for the first time in four years. I learned why it is important to use pure, safe and beneficial products. Cassie Simon invited me to meet ENVP Deanna Osborn at a Presentation. I only agreed to go because she mentioned the Osborns have the same passion for medical missions as my husband and I do. After hearing how Deanna and her husband replaced both their incomes in less than two years, my mind began to reel. With encouragement from my husband, I started my own Arbonne business on August 1, 2004.
I completed District in August, and then went on to Area in October. The next logical step would be to go into qualification for Region. Thanks to Deanna, I never stopped believing it would happen. The dictionary defines faith as, belief that does not rest on logical proof or material evidence. We are constantly told to not quit before payday. From August 2004 through April 2005, three of my teams quit. In April, I only had one team member, new business builder, AM Ursula Marchand.
This is what the team looks like now: Congratulations to AMs, Christin Chen, Scott Townsley, Jane Mathews, KC Woodward, Lindsey Tichenor, Ursula Marchand and Jenny Sublett; and to AMs-in-qualification, Bowin Tichenor, Jessica Dedrick, Julie Barry and Sarah Severns.
Congratulations to DMs, Amy Jamison, Anne Hand, April Seehorn, Charlotte Dunbar, Drew Thompson, Gloria Hudson, Jennifer Anderson, John Marchand, Jolie Holton, Kathy McKinney, Keri Thompson, Linda Gregg, Mary Lynn Neat, Michelle Dedrick, Rachel Barnes, Rita Williams, Stephanie Townsley and Suzy Thompson. Not to us, but to Your name be the glory.
Here I am, at 21, married with a 15-month-old and one on the way. I have an awesome team of Aces, and every day we get to help people attain their dreams and have the potential of financial freedom. I am living my dream and earning the income I have only dreamed of — all in that order. My hope is that everyone reading this will be able to join me in saying, I am glad I did, instead of, I wish I had.
