“Duplicate your upline’s system, plug in and teach others.”
As a single mom working two jobs and unable to make ends meet, my life was not exactly how I pictured it would be at the age of 42. The problem was, I did not live my life purposefully. I knew I needed to do something different, so I duplicated my upline’s actions, built a team and reached Area in December of 2004. Now, seven months later, we have reached Region. As RVP Stephanie Marchbanks says, “hard is what makes it good.” It has not been an easy journey, although it has been worth it and much easier than 42 more years of working two jobs.
ERVP Jodie Johnson invited me to an Arbonne Presentation in 2003. I was so broke, I could not afford the Consultant fee, yet I wanted to get the discount. My dream was to get my family’s skin care and makeup at a discount — talk about small-minded thinking. I hosted a few Presentations, shared the products with co-workers and received my products at a discount. Jodie gently nudged me along and helped me see I could have the potential to replace my part-time income with an Arbonne income, and I did. If you have attended one of my Presentations, you have heard me say I would much rather have fun sharing Arbonne than working as a cashier until midnight, after working as a secretary all day.
Soon after Jodie introduced me to Arbonne, she invited me to a training retreat. That is where I realized I could become an RVP; I just did not know if I would. But the seed had been planted and shortly after, I named my future Region, The Lighthouse Legacy. I had always wondered what kind of legacy I would be able to leave my daughters. I knew I did not just want to leave them with debt. I knew I wanted to help women add value to their lives, help them find a purpose and a means to achieve it. Arbonne is the vehicle for my team and me. I love cheering people on and seeing new people who join the business get excited when they discover hope in their future. I love helping them find their Why and their how; and I love being the lighthouse to shine His hope through.
I want my legacy to be a vehicle to help others achieve all they desire, regardless of their circumstances. I am very thankful to all of the people who helped mold me into the person I am becoming today. I am not perfect by any stretch of the imagination, but I am a better me today.
First of all, I want to thank God for always shining light on my path. To whom much is given, much is expected.
To my parents: Thanks for giving me continued love and support.
To my sister, Kay; brother, Mark and their families: Thanks for being great examples for me. I love all of you and thank you for always buying Arbonne products and receiving Arbonne gifts so graciously.
To my beautiful daughters, my Why, and reasons for the Lighthouse Legacy, (soon to be RVPs!) EDM Samantha Prudhome and Consultant-in-training, Jamie Turner: You are both on your way to having huge businesses. You are successful, incredible and confident women. You shine the light of hope and encouragement. I am proud to be your mom.
I must thank a very special group of women; my friends, Merlin and Judy Davis, my first life coach and spiritual mentor, Kaye Gray and countless others in my “pre-Arbonne life.” Thanks for helping me grow into the person I needed to be to begin living my life with purpose.
To Rhonda Sloan: Thank you for being my sweet friend, sister-in-faith, for helping me to see clearly when things get blurry and remembering we are here for His purpose.
To the Home Office staff: Thanks for your support and attitudes — you are second to none. To Founder Petter Mørck, Executive Vice President Stian Mørck and President Rita Davenport: Thank you for sharing the true beauty of Arbonne — the opportunity. You have each taught us in order to be successful, we must help others succeed. To Sr. VP Product Development & Field Events, Candace Keefe: Thank you for your love of the products, which we all know is the backbone of Arbonne. To Chairman and CEO Bob Henry: Thanks for joining the Arbonne team — what a great addition.
I have to say a big thank you to ENVPs Cecilia Stoll and Cindy Pipkin, and NVP Carol Egleston. I had the privilege of hearing all of you in the beginning of my Arbonne journey, and I love that you speak the truth, plain and simple — you are my Arbonne heroes.
To my upline heroes, ENVP Jill Jones, ENVP Christie Feighan and ERVP Jodie Johnson: Thank you for being such incredible leaders and awesome examples of strong, confident women with integrity. Jodie, thank you for believing in me before I could believe in myself, and for sharing the Arbonne opportunity with me. Because you each built me up and believed in me, I was able to pay it forward. You cannot get to Region without a great team, upline and downline, and I have been blessed with the greatest of both. To AMs, Louise Mueller, Lucinda Montgomery and Shanda Hill; EDMs Samantha Prudhome and Maxine Burns; DMs, Lindy Cleveland, Diane True, Kris Patterson, Jo Veeningen, Brandi Obstinev, Chermaine Wong, Tracey Burgiel, Stacy Crawley, Cindy Epps, Linda Lagasse, Barbie Dall, Carolyn Estelle-Kelly, Bonnie Bledsoe, Marynelle Walley, Christina Green, Sheila Green, Mary Hernandez, Mercedes Granades, Rich Turner, Trisha Smith and Barbara Meler; everyone in-qualification, new Consultants and Clients: The Lighthouse Legacy Region continues to shine the light of hope and encouragement because of you.
Plug in and pay it forward. Arbonne and your upline have a system in place and an incredible opportunity for you to succeed. All you have to do is plug in and teach others.
