“Keep faith and believe that this business works.”
We all grow up dreaming about our future. I wanted a wonderful marriage, happy and healthy children and the perfect career — the whole fairy tale story. And for the past 20 years, I lived that dream. I had a nice house, traveled, raised three beautiful daughters and enjoyed a career as a certified registered nurse anesthetist. The income was great and the status of being an independent, health practitioner was reaffirming. However, that bubble popped in 2002 when I was diagnosed with breast cancer. After eight months of surgery, chemotherapy and radiation, I knew that my life would never be the same. Four months later, my husband left our family. I was uncertain of my future and hopeless.
Taking care of my children while taking care of myself was the biggest challenge of my life. I worked long, stressful hours at the hospital and the responsibility of caring for others was huge. I wanted to be home with my children. Many times I felt like giving up, succumbing to the “cancer victim” mentality. I prayed for strength, for healing, and for a better way of life.
In the winter of 2004, my friends, ERVP Deb Panos and RVP Julie Roden, were having weekly Arbonne Presentations, however the timing was not right for me. Even though I was not looking for something like Arbonne, it did not stop Deb from giving me a NutriMinC® RE9 product sample in April. I loved it and started using it right away. I signed up with an RSVP so that I could purchase as many products as possible. I asked Deb about her Arbonne business and she mentioned the ground-floor opportunity with Arbonne. My mind started racing. I wondered if this could potentially be my way out of financial hardship.
Although I did not know a thing about network marketing, I listened to my sponsor and did as she suggested. The best thing about this business is that you are not expected to know everything and you will be guided and helped every step of the way by an amazing support system. I attended a Consultant training event in my second month and heard President Rita Davenport speak. She was awesome. She gave me some insight into the kind of person I needed to be in order to be successful. I had my picture taken with her and I told her I was going to the top in this company. Rita, I am on my way!
This past year has been the most awesome year of my life. I have met so many women who have taught me some very important lessons and I have gained friendships that will last a lifetime. These relationships are essential for having a successful Arbonne business. I also encourage all prospective Arbonne business builders to keep looking forward with faith, seeking the victory that is waiting for you. Your faith will allow you to step out of your comfort zone and take the necessary steps to succeed with your business — but you must take those steps. Even as I struggled with additional health-related issues while trying to build my business, I kept my faith and continued to share Arbonne with everyone I met. Yes, even my O.R. nurses were able to try some products before my surgery!
To my sponsor and mentor, ERVP Deb Panos: Thank you for being my friend during the hardships in my life. You challenged me in a way that made me feel good about myself, yet allowed me time to heal and grow. You are a wonderful woman and I hold you close to my heart.
To ENVP Gina Ballew: Thank you for your guidance and support. I appreciate the time you have spent with our teams here in Texas.
To my Area Managers — Rita Alexander and Kim Garner: You are both hard-working and dedicated women. You have become terrific leaders and even more importantly, dear friends for life. I know you are loved by your team and I encourage you to keep reaching for the stars and the Mercedes-Benz cars!
To my District Managers — Val Rodermund, Larry Welch, Lynn Harper, Stephanie Chininis, Jenny Ard, Becca Sharp, Anita Krebs, Betsy Wheat, Kim Day, Katy Callison, Laurie Bishop, Deede Butler, Julie Workman, Rosie Govan, Carmen Stoal, Kelley Dixon, Carol Thorne and Casey Hasten. You may be at the first level of Management, but you are at the top of your game. You got here with the determination to strive for all that Arbonne can help you to achieve. I applaud you and give you my heartfelt thanks.
To my Managers-in-qualification and my Consultants who purchase product at a discount: Thank you for your trust in me and these products. The fact that you continue to reorder is awesome. If you think you can build a business with Arbonne, you are right!
To President Rita Davenport: The first time I heard you speak, I laughed at your stories until my side ached. You helped me discover all of the possibilities within myself and the things I needed to change to become a successful person. You led by example, and your three-step organizational chart (God first, then family, then Arbonne) has been the backbone of my business. Thank you for your wisdom and your love.
To the Arbonne Executive Team and the many individuals who make it all happen for us at the Home Office: You worked hard through some very busy times. And as fast as Arbonne is growing, you have been able to continue to do a great job. Thanks so much.
To my mom and dad: I know you wondered if this could potentially provide an income for me in place of my career in healthcare. I kept promising you it would, and you patiently listened and supported me. Mom, you look years younger, and I know you have a high regard for the product. Thanks for your love and trust.
To my Why, my three beautiful daughters — Amanda, Chelsea and Kristen: There is absolutely no way I could have succeeded in Arbonne without your help and support. I know you have faced some difficult challenges too, but you have become the most incredible daughters a woman could ask for. Thank you for your help around the house, your encouragement and your love. You are my treasures and may you always reap the rewards of your faith and hope!
