“Be passionate about your business and you will radiate the opportunity.”
In October 2004, I set a goal to become one of the youngest National Vice Presidents in Arbonne. I never would have dreamed that 16 months later my goal would become a reality.
I became more determined to reach this goal in May 2005 when my husband and I learned we were expecting our first child. I knew I wanted to be in a good place in my business when our new addition arrived. On February 6, 2006, Grady James was born. I had been a National Vice President for a whole six days. What an amazing feeling! Because of my Arbonne success, I knew I would never have to drop him off at daycare and I would be there for him every minute of his precious little life. As President Rita Davenport says, one of the greatest things about Arbonne is that “it brings mommies and daddies home to their babies.”
I am an ordinary, small town girl. At 22, I am so content and happy with my life that I scare myself! But, just over a year ago this was not true. I felt like I was stuck in a rut. I was newly married and very happy, but felt something was missing career-wise. I was working as a teacher’s aid and trying to decide if I should go back to school to find something more financially and emotionally fulfilling. Arbonne could not have come into my life at a more perfect time.
When I look back now, I cannot even imagine what my life would be like if I would have said no to my sponsor, ENVP Sonya Shields. I came up with the same reasons many do when considering why they should not build a business with Arbonne. The following excuses probably sound familiar: I am too busy; I do not have enough time; I do not know anything about skin care; I do not want to host in-home Presentations; I am not a salesperson; What if I fail? All of these excuses masked the real reason I was hesitant about joining Arbonne — fear. I found out that the real thing holding me back was my own fear of the unknown and stepping out of my comfort zone. If you are sitting on the fence right now, I want you to know that the person who told you about this opportunity is giving you the most amazing gift. Find the courage to accept it.
Close your eyes and allow yourself to dream for a minute. This could be the answer you are looking for. Make your dreams become a reality. Arbonne presents an opportunity to build a business that leverages time and potentially create residual income. If you are looking for a way out of the everyday “rat race,” opportunity is knocking! You simply have to open the door and let it in. You will not only help yourself to potentially achieve financial peace, but you get to help many others along the way. One of the biggest rewards of an Arbonne business is helping family, friends and even strangers change their lives for the better. However, before you can make this difference, you have to believe … both in yourself and in others. You must believe this business was meant for you, and that you were meant to do this business. A meaningful saying I have always taken to heart teaches that tomorrow belongs to those who follow their dreams.
I credit much of my Arbonne success to passion. I have been passionate about the products and the opportunity from day one. There were days I wanted to give up, but I promise you when it feels like everything is going wrong and nothing is going right, it will get better. Stick it out because the only way you will not win with Arbonne is to quit. If you feel like you are in a rut with your business, evaluate how passionate and enthusiastic you are. When you are passionate, you will radiate the Arbonne opportunity.
From day one, I treated Arbonne like a business. I saw myself as the CEO of my own corporation and acted like it. I became the example I wanted my team to follow. I made it a policy not to expect anyone on my team to do anything I would not do myself. Still, I encountered people who tried to steal my dreams, but I stayed true to my belief and stuck to my guns. Here I am today writing my Eye on Arbonne NVP story. It goes to show that if you keep focused on your goal, hold yourself accountable and do everything it takes to reach it, you will.
Arbonne is the most amazing company to be a part of because it gives you every single tool you need to be successful, from incredible products to the most supportive leaders. All you need to sustain that, is the belief and the activity. As Rita says, “If it is meant to be, it is up to me.” Think about what you would attempt if you knew you could not fail?
That something, which was missing from my life, has been fulfilled many times over! I feel like a well-rounded person with so much to look forward to. I have a peace of mind and have been able to share that with so many others. My husband is a professional rodeo cowboy and rancher, and some of you may know how risky both of these professions can be. I have been able to set his mind at ease, so he now enjoys what he is doing without worrying about the consequences that injury could potentially have on our family finances. To be able to take that pressure off of him has meant everything to me.
There are countless people who have helped me along in my Arbonne journey — too many to mention. However, I appreciate every person, who has been a part of this experience thus far.
To my sponsor and dearest friend, ENVP Sonya Shields: Words cannot even describe how thankful I am to you for sharing your vision and belief in Arbonne with me. You have been there for me every single step of the way even though we live nine hours apart. I feel very lucky that you saw what it takes to be successful with Arbonne in me. You have paved the way for many to follow. If it was not for your courage, so many of us would never have had this opportunity offered to us. I love you and cherish our friendship every day.
To my sister and best friend, ERVP Billie Long: To think that it was only a little over a year ago you were telling me how you thought I would do great at Arbonne, but that it just was not for you. It only took you a few months to realize that the two jobs you were already working were not going to provide the potential to have financial freedom that we all dream about. As we grew up, I looked up to you for guidance to help me become the person I am today. I feel so honored that through Arbonne I have been able to help you find that potential financial freedom and strong independence from your 9–5 job and give back to you in return for everything you have done for me. Thank you, Billie, for being the best big sister a little sister could ask for. I love you and I am so happy we are in this together!
To my first business builder, ERVP Katharine Leier: Thank you for hosting my first Presentation and immediately catching the Arbonne bug. We have been together on this journey from the start. We have grown our Arbonne businesses together, while molding a strong relationship as friends. You deserve only the best.
To RVP Michelle Schaeffer: With your kind spirit and strong leadership, it is no wonder your Arbonne business is where it is today. I cannot wait to see you in your shiny, new Mercedes-Benz!
To ERVP Jaclyne Kunz and RVP Brook Robertson: Thank you for all of your hard work. You have both paved the way for many and I am so happy for your success with Arbonne!
To AM Raegan Byrne: Even when times were tough, you persevered when many would have quit. I admire your strength and am so thankful that everything is coming together for you in your business.
To AM Nichola Treble: Many people would have used your circumstances as an excuse, but not you. Your determination astounds me, along with your beautiful and elegant personality. Thank you for your hard work and no-matter-what attitude.
To DMs, Lacy Rowan, Nicole McNickel and Michelle Barnstable: You all possess awesome leadership qualities and are ENVPs in the making. Keep at it girls, your time is coming.
To the Oklahoma girls, ENVP Alicia Dewey, ENVP Tonna Krogstad, ENVP Erin Krogstad and ERVP Fraya White: Thank you for your love, support and for coming all the way to Canada to share your knowledge with all of us. I am proud to have you as my upline.
To my parents: What can I say? I love you so much and would not be where I am today if not for all of your guidance and support. Mom, thank you for always having a house full of Arbonne. Dad, thanks for being Billie’s and my “Arbonne Independent Courier.” To my brother, Cody: Thank you for always having a shaving kit stocked with product.
To my wonderful in-laws, Jan and Keith: Your support means the world to me. Thank you for everything you do for Blade and I.
To all my Consultants and Clients: Thank you for giving me a starting point in Arbonne. To all other AMs, DMs and Consultants: Thank you for all you do. I will see you all at the top!
To Tonyta Thomsen at the Home Office: You are our one and only Canadian “know-it-all!” To Chairman & CEO Bob Henry and President Rita Davenport: Thank you for this amazing company and opportunity.
To Blade, my amazing husband: Thank you for putting up with burned supper, no supper and for the countless hours I have spent on the phone; but thanks, mostly, for always working around my Arbonne schedule. I am so excited about our new life together with our beautiful son, Grady. You mean everything to me and I thank God every day for bringing you into my life. I love you.
One of my favorite sayings communicates that true success is living your life the way you want to, not the way you have to. Thanks to Arbonne, I feel I have now accomplished true success!
